Drum roll please.. As Tom and I play the multi 2 now, we have to redefine our weak 2 and 2 bids.

2 shows 5 - 10 HCP, 5-5 in hearts and another suit including spades

Responses:

• 2NT is the only forcing bid. Responses are:
  • 3 shows clubs
  • 3 shows diamonds
  • 3 shows spades
  • Jumps show 6-5
• 2 is pass or correct to minor
• 3 pass with spades or raise clubs or correct to diamonds only
• 3/4 pre-emptive

Suggested Defense:

• Dbl takeout of hearts
• 2NT natural and other bids natural

Responses:

• 2NT asks for a singleton
  • 3 = singleton heart
  • 3 = singleton spade
  • 3NT = void somewhere
  • 4 = 5 diamonds and 6 clubs (shows 1-1 in majors)
  • 4 = 6 diamonds and 5 clubs (shows 1-1 in majors)
• Jump to 4 of a minor is keycard for that minor
• Jump to a major is to play.

Major suit bid after 2NT inquiry is to play.

Suggested defense:

• Dbl = flat 16-18
• Pass then dbl minor is penalty
• 3 = weak major suit takeout
• 3 = strong major suit takeout
• 4/4 = strong two suitor with a singleton or void
