Grand Slam Force

A jump to 5NT after trump agreement is the Grand Slam Force, asking about the high honor cards in the trump suit. This version is the easiest to remember and safest because GSF rarely comes up.

• Bidding 6 of the trump suit denies 2 of the top 3
• Bidding 7 of the trump suit shows 2 of the top 3

A more involved one has the responses vary depending on the trump suit.

With Spades agreed

• 6 shows jack or less
• 6 shows the queen
• 6 shows ace or king, minimum length
• 6 shows ace or king, extra length
• 7 shows 2 of the top 3 honors

With Hearts agreed

• 6 shows queen or less
• 6 shows ace or king, minimum length
• 6 shows ace or king, extra length
• 7 shows 2 of the top 3 honors

With Diamonds agreed

• 6 shows queen or less
• 6 shows ace or king
• 7 shows 2 of the top 3 honors

With Clubs agreed

• 6 shows zero or one honor
• 7 shows 2 of the top 3 honors
