10 - 12 NT.
1NT - 10-12 balanced in 1st, 2nd & 3rd seat. Standard 15-17 in 4th.
Other Systems over 1NT (10-12)
- 2 is non forcing stayman
- 2 is forcing stayman
- 2/2/3/3 are to play.
- 2NT is G.F., and with a good minor suit and slam interest (minor suit slam try). Opener rebids:
- 3/ - at least 3 cards in that suit
- 3 - at least 3 cards in both minors, less than 4 controls
- 3 - at least 3 cards in both minors, at least 4 controls
- 3 & 3 are 5/5 in the majors, where hearts shows invitational values and spades is a game force.
Since we never open 2-2-4/5-5/4 hands 1NT, one of the majors will always be the trump suit. It is required that the opener bid one of the minor suit Aces if he has one. Or, Super Accept with 3NT (waiting), or simply pick the trump suit.
- 4 or 4 is South African Transfer to hearts or spades. 4 or 4 respectively will Super Accept. Minimum requirements for super accept are 3 card trump support and 4 controls (A=2, K=1).
- 4 or 4 is a 5/6 with 5 card bid major and 6 card minor. These are slam tries. Opener rebids:
- pass with 3 trumps
- bid 5 to play in the minor.
- Opener's 1st step bid 4 or 4 agrees the Major suit and shows at least 2 Aces and is key card asking.
- Opener's 5 bid is agreeing either minor and shows at least 2 Aces and the K of the bid major exactly doubleton.
3. Runouts over 1NT - dbl. Must run with less than 9 pts.
- Bid of a suit is touching suits, that suit and higher.
- redouble forces the opener to bid 2. The responder is trying to show a single suited hand (usually 5+ cards).
- pass forces the opener to redouble, which may be left in or responder is bidding 2 non-touching suits.
- 2 will show clubs & (hearts or spades)
- 2 will show diamonds & spades.
Runouts over 1NT - P - P - dbl - ? (*Opener should bid a 5 card minor immediately if he has one) Responder may:
- Pass with balance of power (10 pts.)
- Redouble to show single suited minor hand. Opener must bid 2.
- DONT runouts for 2 suited hands.
2 Way checkback over 1 NT rebids after a minor opening.
- 2 is checkback with an invitational hand
- 2 is checkback and is absolutely Game Forcing.
